I'm Viran, founder of CakeBear.

My love for patisserie and hospitality has been a recurring theme throughout my life for years. In an earlier chapter, I built CupcakeChic, a place that became associated with cupcakes, cakes, and small moments of happiness for many people in The Hague, Rotterdam, and Schiphol. After its closure in 2017, space slowly emerged for something new.

In the years that followed, I worked in entrepreneurship, consultancy, AI, and automation. Precisely in a world that is becoming increasingly fast-paced, digital, and efficient, my desire for something human and tangible grew ever stronger. A place where attention, tranquility, and experience could once again take center stage.

In 2023, CakeBear was born. First online, from an idea and feeling that slowly took shape. At the end of 2024, CakeBear finally opened as a café: a warm place in the heart of the city where scent, taste, and atmosphere come together, and where attention truly means attention.

Raised in a family where food connects and hospitality is a given, I built CakeBear as a place where you can treat yourself. Tranquility. Sweetness. A moment together. Or just a good coffee with something special.

CakeBear also came into being thanks to the people around me. Family, friends, and regular guests who have been involved, tasted, helped, and believed in the idea behind CakeBear from the very beginning. In their own way, they have all become part of the story.

Everything you see is made with care. From scratch, with high-quality ingredients and a great love for the craft.
